Sofala Province
Sofala Province is the gateway to South Eastern Africa, and the start of the “Beira Corridor”, a road and rail network linking Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique to the port of Beira on the Indian Ocean. The Beira Corridor has played a crucial role in the history of the region’s development.
Sofala Province is also home to Gorongosa National Park, which was once prized as the most biodiverse national park in all of Africa, and is now being rehabilitated with a coalition of international partners.
